With every stroke of my brush, I encapsulate not just the physical likeness, but the unique essence and personality of your loved ones. To ensure that I can capture every nuance and detail, I kindly request high-resolution images that highlight facial details. This precision enables me to craft a portrait that not only resembles your loved one but also tells their story and reflects their spirit.
For those cherished photos taken by a professional photographer, please make sure you have the appropriate copyright release. This ensures that we honor and respect the creative rights of all artists involved.

Here is my process
Initial photo review After receiving your photos, I will do an initial review to check whether the portrait is suitable and recommend an appropriate size.
Commission details and deposit If the project is a good fit, I will confirm the price and send through the commission details. To reserve your place in my schedule, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. This secures your commission timing and allows work to begin on planning your portrait
Planning and mock-up Once the deposit has been paid, I will begin the planning stage. This includes detailed reference review, composition guidance, and mock-up preparation in Photoshop so you can visualise the size, placement, and overall design before the painting begins. If you provide a photo of the room where the artwork will hang, I can also mock up the portrait in situ, using an object like a couch as a reference for size
Painting and final approval Once the mock-up has been approved, I will begin your portrait. I will provide progress updates as the artwork develops. When the portrait is complete, I will send final images for approval. The remaining 50%, plus any shipping fees, is due upon completion and approval of the final painting.
Delivery and shipping Prices are in Australian dollars. Artwork is shipped from Australia, and a shipping estimate can be provided ahead of time. International clients are responsible for customs fees that apply in their country.
Portraits may feature the sitter’s head and shoulders, the whole figure, or multiple people. My aim is to capture the sitter’s likeness, character, and presence in a way that feels true to them.
I work from photo references, so image quality is important. Clear, high-resolution photos with good lighting allow for a stronger final portrait. If you are unsure whether your photos are suitable, I will review them before booking and recommend the best direction.
Commissioned portraits are created in oil paint on a professional archival surface. Depending on the size and requirements of the work, I use Ampersand Gessobord, high-quality linen, or Dibond panel for selected larger paintings where a lighter, durable surface is suitable. I may use drawing or digital planning as part of the preparation process, but my current commission offering focuses on finished oil portraits.

Detailed reference review, composition planning, and Photoshop mock-up preparation begin once your deposit has been paid and your place in my schedule has been secured.

Listed prices are for a one-subject oil portrait with a simple or minimal background. Final pricing depends on the number of subjects, level of detail, background, and reference requirements.
Additional subjects and complex details are quoted separately. As a guide, an additional person is $450, an additional pet is $350 to $450, detailed hands or complex clothing are $150 to $350, and detailed backgrounds or settings are $250 to $600. Significant image restoration, reference compositing, or complex image preparation will be quoted individually.
